What HVC can do?
Community Car Service – still going that extra mile
We will be running our Community Car Service throughout the crisis. However, we will have to focus on essential requests only: trips to the Doctors, medical appointments and shopping.
WE will also be working partnership with other organisations and community groups including the Halesworth Hoppa Bus and local Parish Councils who will deliver to your area.
Isolation Busters – there when you need us. We will be still be running our Isolation Buster programme but we will be providing support by phone. If you are feeling low and would like someone to talk to, we will find an Isolation Buster for you. Just ring 01986 875600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org HVC and the local Community. Here to help during the Covid-19 Crisis, wherever you live -what ever you need.
Covid-19 – a Community Response. All the community groups in Halesworth and the surrounding rural villages, local businesses, Parish Councils, the Blyth Valley Team, Roman Catholic and URC Churches and the statutory sector are working to create a co-ordinated response to the current crisis. We are part of the Suffolk County and East Suffolk Council’s Emergency Response Plan and are supported by our Local Councillors. Over the next week, we will be working together to ensure that we can provide the services and support you need when you need it.
I want to help – who do I talk to?
We are looking for volunteers from Halesworth and the surrounding village communities.
We are looking for shoppers, drivers and people who would like to be a friendly voice for someone on their own.
Just contact HVC on 875600 to find out more.
I am already helping my neighbours!
That’s great. But if you ever need a bit of help and advice, just give us a call. Sometimes, it can be a bit overwhelming to feel you are the only one who is helping. HVC have a team of staff and volunteers who can share the load.
Local Parish Councils will be keeping an eye on vulnerable people in their community so do let us know if you are helping someone and we can let the Parish Council know they are being supported. (Remember to get their consent first!). That way, we can prevent replication but also keep you safe and supported.
