Funding and Management of the Centre
The Volunteer Centre operates as a charity, with a board of trustees from the local community. The Trustees are responsible for the overall accountability and direction of the Centre. The board of trustees is currently chaired by Mary Henry. Further information of the governance of the centre can be found at the Charity Commission website.
We receive annual grants from Suffolk County Council, Waveney District Council and Halesworth Town Council, as well as donations from local parish councils and members of the public. We also hold various fund-raising events throughout the year which are publicised locally.
The Community Car Service is supported by Suffolk County Council Environment and Transport, who subsidise passenger payments and the administration of the scheme. No charges are made for the non- driving services that we undertake.
Suffolk Links service is funded by Suffolk County Council
Donations to the centre are always very welcome. An annual donation to the centre can be made through the Friends of Halesworth Volunteer Centre - this small fund provides valuable support to the Centre.
